Pride in Helping Women Aware

The mission of the Women Aware Outreach Center in New Brunswick is to end domestic violence in the lives of women, children, and men.  They strive to change societal attitudes that promote and condone violence, through public policy, advocacy, education, and programs that promote lives free of violence.

Women Aware provides housing services through their Safe House, a 24-bed emergency shelter in a confidential location, and Permanent Supportive Housing Program, which is designed to provide affordable housing coupled to survivors of domestic violence and their children.

Women Aware offers counseling and supportive services to families and individuals who have been affected by domestic violence and abuse. They help victims move forward and build a life beyond abuse.

Star Dog, created with the purpose of helping children in need, is honored to be able to provide clothing for the Women Aware Outreach Center. We have a very special place in our hearts for families of domestic violence.  Having something as simple as a new t-shirt gives them hope, love and confidence.  We are proud that our Give Back New Jersey event is going to help not only the Women Aware Children, but also other local children in need.
